It's Quiz Time Again (This one's easier)

Let’s start the New Year off with a bang of a quiz that everyone should pass with flying colors. Over the holidays, the lovely Trish whispered in my ear that my quizzes got to be a little too difficult. Well, let’s make a change for just this once and give everyone a chance to answer the entire list of questions correctly!

Are you ready? (As usual, answer all of them first and then scroll down for the correct answers).

Here we go!

1. What is the official name of Washington DC’s National Football League franchise?

2. Name one star of The Bob Newhart Show.

3. What is the name of this blog?

4. Name the first book of the Bible which starts out with “In the beginning…”. (I will also accept the name of Phil Collins old band.)

5. What differentiated Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer from the other reindeer? (I will also accept the subject of Janine’s rant on the Follow Spot)

6. What soft drink is Diet Coke based on only without the calories?

7. What vegetable do French Fries come from?

8. How do you get your clothes clean?

9. Which is the harder substance, Silly Putty or a rock?

10. Who is one the most handsome eligible bachelors around?

11. What is the capital of the United States of America?

12. Who is credited with inventing the telephone? (See if his name rings a bell.)

13. Which recording artist made the hit album “Thriller” in the ‘80s?

14. Who lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, DC? (It’s also referred to as “The White House”)

15. Who is currently the host of Late Night with David Letterman?

16. What is 10% of 100?

17. Who wrote Romeo and Juliet?

18. In which state does New York City reside?

19. Please explain why it is not a good idea for children to smoke.

20. Why does Jim Lawson have an area on his scalp that doesn’t seem to grow a lot of hair?

Scroll down for the answers.

8. You wash them. (If you said you “warsh” them then you got this one wrong. Sorry Minnick)

9. Silly Putty (unless you left it out on the back porch during a winter freeze).

10. This answer can be extensive. Your answer is correct as long as you’ve included “Jim Lawson” on your list.

11. Washington, DC.

12. Alexander Graham Bell

13. Michael Jackson

14. The President of the United States (Currently George W. Bush)

15. David Letterman

19. I will accept any of the following: it can cause cancer, it has an awful odor, it causes yellow stains on your teeth and fingers, it is a far too expensive habit for a child to be able to afford, it has recently been proven that smoking actually does NOT make you look cool.

20. It is a little known fact that many years ago while a Navy Seal, Jim Lawson was on the coast of Argentina performing a top secret mission to remove the sitting president, Eduardo Al Pacino. While offshore of Buenos Aires, Jim was scuba diving at 23:00 hours in the midst of the murky Rio de la Plata, just off of the Atlantic Ocean. While waiting for his signal to kidnap Pacino he was suddenly struck at the top of his head by a iceberg that was about 3,000 miles off course from it’s natural habitat. Lawson was in a coma for more than two years and when he finally came to at Bethesda Naval Hospital the only scar he carried with him was a 4”x4” spot atop of his skull which no longer grows hair. (I will also accept that Jim has a bald spot.

How did you do? Let me know!

Victory!

I have attained a perfect score at last!

Knew most of #20, but now that it's public domain... "Damn that Freedom of Information Act!" The Archives are currently featuring this topic on their 'educational tours'... FYI...

Be well- and thanks for the fun!

I must go on record saying that Trish was just the last one to tell me that the quizzes were difficult. She was one of many. Although she was definitely the prettiest.
