What's Your Favorite Comfort Foods?
We’re now in the middle of the winter and we’ve had some pretty cold weather. It hasn’t been as bad other places in the US but the DC area still has it’s chilly moments. I was wondering what are some of your favorite “comfort” foods for the winter? They can be full meals, entrée’s, side dishes,, snacks or drinks, whatever gives you that warm feeling inside. Feel free to give the recipe’s too!

Chili over rice with sweet cornbread!
I have to say Mac & Cheese with hot dogs cut up in it. Or Chili but homemade not out of a can. Is this just your way of getting ideas for dinner tonight?
It's funny that you both said Chili. I made homemade chile last night. With cornbread!
After coming in from shoveling the snow and taking a hot shower, I love to warm up further with a grill cheese sandwich and a hot bowl of soup. Then...watch DVD's as the snow falls outside, laying on the sofa wrapped in a blanket and a bowl of popcorn...Ending the DVD marathon with a pint of Ben & Jerry's. BTW--I have a new found love for frozen seedless grapes instead of popcorn.
Can cake be comfort food? I'd really love some cake.
I like to make a pot roast on a snowed in day
I like home made chili with Fritios or any other corn chip product.
I like meatloaf with a side of fried chicken legs and some Fritos. Then for dessert, I enjoy marshmallows dipped in chocolate fondue. And to wash it all down, I like to sip on an Irish Coffee.
OK, did I win a prize?!
BTW, how does Ron rap a bowl of popcorn around himself. I'd like to see that.
I have photos of Ron and yes, you do win the prize.
Well, I have to offer repeats. Cake. I crave cake when comfort food is needed. And Mac and Cheese. Any kind. It can be yummy homemade with fancy cheeses or kraft from a box. I LOVE it. My favorite recipe is from the barefoot contessa. It has Gruyere in it-one of my faves. Yum!
