Another Christmas Present????

With all of the Christmas gifts put away I would be remiss if I didn’t mention one gift that was not for me. As a matter of fact it wasn’t even for my girls, it was for my parents.

My older sister, Diane, told my parents that her gift to them wouldn’t be able to be picked up until near the end of January. Well, the time has come and they picked up the “present” two nights ago. Here she is!

It’s an eight week-old Golden Retriever. Her name from the breeder is Vixen; the litter was named after the Santa’s reindeer. I don’t think my folks will keep the name Vixen but we are all giving them our suggestions for a new name.

She’s an adorable little lady who still needs some work on her potty training and my mom called me around 11:00 pm the other night asking if this would go on all night. In the background I could hear the yelps of a puppy that was laid down to sleep in her cage. We have experience raising a puppy Golden Retriever when 13 years ago we got Brandy on her eight-week birthday. There is nothing better than having a Golden and no better pet for a family with kids. Dani has been putting the bug in my ear about us needing a new puppy but Barb has been a little hesitant. Barb and I were with Brandy when we had to say goodbye to her over a year ago. I can certainly understand Barbara’s feelings.

Barbara thinks that my folks should name the puppy Lucy or Shelly. Dani thinks that since she is a blond she should be named Vanilla and called Nellie. My mom said that she liked Gretchen (huh?) and my brother suggested Trudy since she is intruding on my folks other two dogs and cat.

You can’t debate it, she’s terribly cute and fun to play with….but I get to say goodbye to her and go home when I’m done playing with her. New puppy for the Lawsons??? Hmmm, maybe one day.

You Mean He Actually Posted Something???

Okay, here is a very eclectic post. The first picture is of my little Barbara running out of school to greet her daddy. Barb is now a patrol and has on her first set of spectacles. Que chic!

Here is where my staff had their holiday lunch. None other than the Laurel Racetrack where race number three was named after our association (hence the title).

And they're coming down the stretch……

I bet on the nag with three legs. What was I thinking? This is how I lost all of our Christmas account. Why do I feel like Homer Simpson?

If I had won money they would have let us eat lunch inside the clubhouse. This is where we ate our horsemeat sandwiches.

How did your office or workplace celebrate???
